Foam Pigs
Also known as “Foamies” or “Polly Pigs”, Foam Pigs are constructed from open-cell, flexible polyurethane foam and are usually molded in one piece. Thanks to their ultra-flexibility, they can be used for pipeline cleaning and a wide range of applications across multiple industries. Foam Pigs also have much greater compressibility than Solid Cast Pigs and oversizing can vary due to application and foam density. For this reason, it is essential to specify the actual size of the pig required when ordering rather than stating the nominal size of the pipeline.
Why Use Foam Pigs for Pipelines?
- Varying densities ranging from 1 pound per cubic foot to 12 pounds per cubic foot suits different applications.
- Available in sizes ranging from 0.5” to 60” in diameter in 0.25” increments.
- Unlike Solid Cast Pigs, which have a single size for each Nominal Pipe Size (NPS), Foam Pigs are delivered in the exact size ordered.
